Clear next steps

Heart attacks are sudden but the plaque buildup is silent.

Blood tests and calcium scores fail to capture the crucial soft plaque in your arteries. It is newer, less stable, and more likely to rupture.

Our scan helps you detect it early.

Introducing Veevo Heart Scan

Our heart scan is a coronary CT angiogram (CCTA) that gives you a clear picture of your arteries, including crucial soft plaque and signs of narrowing.

FAQs

The Veevo Heart Scan is a non-invasive coronary CT angiography (CCTA) scan that creates detailed images of your coronary arteries. It can catch plaque buildup, called atherosclerosis, inside artery walls years before symptoms appear. Preventive cardiologists use this imaging technology to find plaque early.

Blood tests measure risk factors like cholesterol and blood sugar, but they can't tell you whether plaque is building up in your arteries. Our scan shows you the health of your arteries directly.

The Veevo Heart Scan typically uses 2 to 5 mSv of radiation. For context, a year of natural background radiation is about 3 mSv. The actual dose varies by person, scanner, and imaging protocol.

A calcium score measures only hard (calcified) plaque. The Veevo Heart Scan can show both calcified and soft plaque. Soft plaque is often the riskier kind, as it is prone to rupture and cause a heart attack. A calcium score misses it entirely.

The Veevo Heart Scan is widely used and generally considered safe for appropriate candidates. It uses contrast dye through an IV to create a clear picture of your heart arteries. Our doctor will determine whether it is appropriate for you.

No. The Veevo Heart Scan is different from invasive coronary angiography (cardiac catheterization). It uses contrast through a standard IV and a CT scanner; no catheter is placed inside your arteries.
